I used to be (and would like to think, still) a dreamer. A wisher. Indeed, a bit flighty and overly optimistic. But I still believe that I am living this life for a single purpose: to live the fullest and most complete life I can.
I am 24 years old. I am a college graduate. At this point in my life, I thought (when I was younger) that I would be traveling the world, that I would be discovering new things, and that I would be already embarking on a wonderful and exciting life. So when I realized, that at age 24, I have begun my adulthood (with all the freedom it entails), stuck behind a desk working a job I don't particularly care about with no immediate plans to change this fact, I vowed to change it. I vowed to start anew because there was no better time then now to start taking charge of my life.
In the grand tradition of lists, I've begun my "Life List". Most of these were dreams I had when I was younger, back when I had full confidence in myself and my abilities. Dreams that I believed I could complete, and now I will. Others are new, added in fits of optimism.
I promise to do something each day to bring myself one step closer to completing a goal. I promise to never strike a goal from this list. And I promise that I will not get discouraged and fall into the pit of accepting mediocrity.
